Our very own International Manager Courtney Wardle has been shortlisted for the prestigious IRP awards under the category of ‘Jobs Transform Lives: Best Candidate Experience’.
Courtney stated “It’s an honour to be considered for this award and what makes it even more amazing is that it’s based on our candidates! Our healthcare professionals are The most important part of what we do and to be recognised for making a difference to their lives is so rewarding!”

My role as an International Recruitment Consultant at Jane Lewis International involves the recruitment of overseas healthcare professionals to the UK.
I work closely with my clients providing a high level of service, assisting them with their recruitment needs. I send regular reports outlining where all candidates are in the process of their application, which is highly beneficial for my clients as this provides them with an in-depth update of all candidate’s progress.
I build a close relationship with all candidates who are going through the process, supporting them with their application and assisting them with any queries they may have.
Part of my role involves me going to the airport and greeting the candidates once they have arrived in the UK. I ensure they receive a warm and friendly welcome, before taking them to the hospital where they will be working and beginning their new life.
I thoroughly enjoy this part of my role. It’s wonderful to finally meet the people I’ve supported throughout their application, and to be the first person to meet them as soon as they arrive after their long flight.
It’s a dream come true for them and it is so rewarding to be a part of making this happen.

My role at Jane Lewis International involves recruiting Healthcare professionals from overseas to work within NHS and private hospitals in the UK, providing urgently needed staff ensuring safe staffing levels and patient safety.
I work with my client Hospitals through a partnership approach and look to provide a holistic recruitment process for my overseas candidates, matching people perfectly with my clients not only from a professional point of view but to ensure they are going to receive the right support to help them adapt to a new culture and lifestyle.
I regularly travel overseas to the Philippines and India and have developed a strong relationship orientated recruitment process, from pre-screening, informing and advising on all the steps which can be quite daunting and financially concerning for my candidates. They are looking for a better life and future for their family, they are highly qualified with excellent communication skills however sadly they receive low pay and some live in poor conditions whilst giving of themselves selflessly to their patients.
I manage the candidate process from initial pre-screening interview right through to meeting them at the airport in the UK and accompanying them to their new place of work and accommodation. On occasion I also assist with shopping for food and essential home items and opening a UK bank account.
I am passionate about my role and driven by my candidates and clients, my satisfaction is knowing that I have helped to transform the lives of my candidates whilst knowing the considerable benefits to my client hospitals and patients. I feel lucky to be a part of their story and would say my own life has been transformed by my job.
